Caffe Nero at The Merrion Centre

European Coffee brand to open at the Merrion Centre
Caffè Nero spills the beans

Successful European coffee company, Caffè Nero has just completed a 10-year lease agreement with Town Centre Securities PLC and will be opening its first Merrion Centre store this Sunday, recruiting 10 full time barista roles.

Occupying circa 1100 sq feet, this will be the sixth store for the Coffee specialists in Leeds, adding to their growing Yorkshire portfolio of over 30 stores.

Guy Mauduit, Property Consultant for Caffè Nero comments; “This store is a really exciting opening for us with a very prominent street level location on the corner of one of the Merrion Centre’s busiest entrances. The landlord has invested in this site and the evolving Arena Quarter increases the attractiveness of our location. We trade very well in Leeds; it’s a bustling city with a growing number of coffee connoisseurs and we’re confident our new store will attract a lot of customers.”

The family run business has been creating handcrafted coffee since 1997 and this store like their other 550 plus stores across the UK will offer Leeds customers’ outstanding coffee and a wide range of Mediterranean inspired food. Coffee is at the heart of the organisation and all baristas are fully trained in the art of making espresso-based coffees.

Helen Green, Associate Director of Estates for Town Centre Securities PLC comments; “We’re delighted that Caffè Nero has chosen the Merrion Centre to open its latest outlet. We’re confident that it will be inundated with our shoppers and nearby office employees and students. We experienced footfall of over 10.6 million visitors to the Centre last year and we’re anticipating higher numbers for this year.”

Trade at the Merrion Centre is continuing to evolve. Clothing store, Ethel Austin is the most recent tenant; it opened its doors at 13 Merrion Centre Leeds on Saturday 5th July.
