MERRION HOUSE
The original Merrion House was officially opened on 1st December 1972. After a restructure of the councils in 1974 (and expanding duties of the newly formed council), the metropolitan council took the building prior to completion and have occupied ever since.
Following an extensive refurbishment completed in 2018, Merrion House is now a 170,000 sq ft state of the art office building and remains one of the city centre homes of Leeds City Council (LCC) who employ over 2200 staff on site.
It has all of the Council’s public facing departments including:
