The Merrion Centre Welcomes Financial Services Provider

Earlier this year the Merrion Centre announced it would be undertaking a project to increase its retail space with the addition of some new, contemporary units on the Wade Lane mall. The first new resident of the additional space will be Your Loan Shop, a financial services provider.

Opening this month, ‘Your Loan Shop’ is part of Leeds City Credit Union and provides a wide range of affordable borrowing and savings opportunities. There are currently nine additional Leeds Credit Union branches in and around Leeds, however this will be the flagship branch for the Your Loan Shop arm of the business and the very first to open in a shopping centre.

Helen Green, Associate Director of Town Centre Securities, the owner of the Merrion Centre, said: “The Wade Lane mall has seen some very exciting additions over the last few months with Jumbo Records opening and the addition of the ibis Styles Hotel and adjoining Marco Pierre White’s New York Italian restaurant and bar. Now the kiosks are almost ready we’re also excited to welcome yet more businesses to further enhance the already strong offering.

“One of the great things about the Merrion Centre is that we offer a fantastic mix of eateries, retail, fashion outlets and music venues alongside a host of other services. This latest addition is just another way we are ensuring that there is something for everyone within our mall and visitors can find everything they need in one place.”

Leeds City Credit Union is ‘mutual’ organisation, owned by its members, and is one of the largest in the UK with some 37,000 members. It is regulated by the FCA and is part of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
