Beat Bar, a club owned by brothers Gurmail and Sam Rathore, has opened on Merrion Street adding to the already vibrant and varied nightlife of Leeds city centre.
This intimate venue, described as “a stylish space with a stripped back, raw, industrial look”, is the perfect location for party goers to enjoy their musical heroes up close.
Beat Bar always has something exciting and unique on offer, at an affordable price; ideal for students wanting to unwind after their studies, without eating too much into their small budget.
Since its unveiling, Beat Bar has played host to some of the most exciting names in underground music from across the globe including Hip Hop legend Jeru the Damaja and internationally recognized House and Techno DJ Trus’me. Beat Bar’s future events look just as exciting.
On Friday 1 February Joey Negro, one of the most renowned and long standing names in UK House music, will take to the stage. Negro has been releasing singles and albums since the late 1980s and continues to wow audiences with his versatile DJ sets, gaining him international recognition. Credited with being one of the first to use Disco samples in music, this event is unmissable for any lover of the genre.
On Saturday 16 February Mala will give a very special and never before heard live performance of his recent album ‘Mala in Cuba’, alongside a four piece band. In 2012, Mala travelled from London to Havana and recorded an album using the skills and talents of gifted Cuban musicians, creating a beautiful fusion of sounds and cultures. Experiencing this show live at Beat Bar will be extremely memorable.
With even more anticipated events showcasing various talents across the musical spectrum on a regular basis, Beat Bar is set to be an essential location for music lovers.
