BIGGEST EVER CRYPT FACTOR IS IN TUNE WITH LEADING CHARITIES

YORKSHIRE’S property industry is on target to raise more than £50,000 at this week’s Crypt Factor for LionHeart and St George’s Crypt and both charities have unveiled plans to use the money to make a huge difference to hundreds of peoples’ lives.
The eighth Crypt Factor takes place this Thursday at Elland Road and will see nine acts sing in front of an audience of more than 650 property professionals. Key sponsors are Bond Dickinson, Bruntwood, Morgans City Living and Town Centre Securities and The Yorkshire Post is the event’s official media partner.
This year the First Direct Arena and Hilton Hotel are also supporting the event and offering a unique Miley Cyrus VIP auction prize for four people that includes premier tickets to see the star perform, overnight accommodation, gourmet meal, transport to the show and signed programmes.

St George’s Crypt is well known for its work with homeless and disadvantaged people in Leeds and LionHeart offers a range of services to help and support past and present RICS members and their families when they face unexpected problems in their lives.
Martin Patterson from St George’s Crypt, says: “We’ve been helping homeless and vulnerable people in Leeds and its surrounding areas since 1930 and it’s fantastic to have the region’s property industry supporting us through the Crypt Factor.
“The money always makes a huge difference to the services that we provide. Over the last 12 months, we have focussed on developing our ‘Growing Room’ programme, which supports people as they break alcohol and drug related addictions. A former addict, who can relate to what the residents are going through, leads the programme and so far the results have been fantastic. The money from this year’s event will enable us to continue developing the programme and helping people to improve their self-confidence, make positive decisions and ultimately move back into society and gain employment.”

Richard Lewis Vice Chariman of LionHeart says: “We help RICS members deal with all types of problems that are often completely unexpected and can include ill health, disability, unemployment and family separation. LionHeart is completely reliant on donations from RICS members and the property industry at large, with the Crypt Factor being a key event in our calendar.

“We’re currently working closely with a number of members who are battling everything from prostate and breast cancer through to stress and marriage breakdowns offering a range of services and advice. The money raised enables us to continue making a real difference to members in the Yorkshire region.”
