Shoppers invited to satisfy their need for speed at the Merrion Centre

The Merrion Centre is giving shoppers in Leeds the chance to have their own Silverstone experience this month, with an exclusive race car simulator.
For those inspired by the British Grand Prix, taking place this weekend, the £130,000 high-speed simulator is available to use in the centre between 17th June and 17th July and gives racers the chance to channel their inner Lewis Hamilton.
James Broughton, the marketing manager for the Merrion Centre said: “This installation offers a different and exhilarating experience to Leeds shoppers, which they can’t find elsewhere in the city.
“We’re keen to further establish the centre – and the wider Arena Quarter – as a key leisure destination in the region and investments such as this really help set the Merrion Centre apart.”
The project is being used as a trial for a more long-term, larger-scale investment in a simulator experience, which could be considered for the centre in the future.
Rides are charged at just £1 per minute, with the fastest individual winning a Super Car driving experience.
