Work is underway to give The Merrion Centre a multi-million pound facelift.

The Merrion Centre is currentlu undergoing a £10m transformation, called the ‘New Front’ scheme, which will create up to 200 new jobs.

The development, which is where The Merrion Market used to be on Merrion Way and Wade Lane, will include bars, cafes, restaurants and a gym, and will face the new £60m First Direct Arena.

Already signed up for the development are Pan-Asian buffet restaurant COSMO, which will open a 12,500sq ft site in Easter 2014, Costa Coffee and Pure Gym.

Yorkshire-based Pure Gym will open its second 24-hour facility in the city centre, taking up 21,000sq ft of space. The new gym is due to open this Autumn.
