SUCCESFUL YEAR OF FUNDRAISING HELPS LEEDS BASED CHILDRENS CANCER CHARITY

The Merrion Centre celebrated a successful year of fundraising for Candlelighters , the Leeds based charity supporting children with cancer and their families, raising Over £8,200
The Centre raised money through a number of activities including donation collections at the free Merrion Mini Cinema and profits from both the Grotto and the sales of recipe cards when Nadiya Hussain, the Great British Bake Off winner, gave a demonstration in the Centre last December.

Brian Curran said, “We are so grateful to The Merrion Centre for their support and their donation will make a huge difference to the children and families we support.”

Edward Ziff, Chairman of Town Centre Securities PLC, who own the Merrion Centre said, “Our shoppers have been very generous throughout 2015 and helped us raise such a tremendous amount for such a worthwhile charity. We are delighted to support Candlelighters who we know are incredibly supportive to children living with cancer and their families.\”

The Centre will continue to support Candlighters throughout 2016 and are planning a number of fundraising events.
