Wed 24 Oct, 2018
On Saturday 10th November, The Merrion Centre in the heart of Leeds will launch its largest-ever Christmas celebration with their first ever ‘Merrion’s Magical Christmas fun day.
With stacks of surprises planned throughout the day, the centre will be filled with free family entertainment which is sure to leave shoppers full of festive spirit!
The event will commence at 12pm running through the afternoon until 4pm with a fantastic array of pop up acts providing entertainment, including Britain’s Got Talent dance act Scandalous Productions, a Gospel Choir, plus the opportunity to meet family favourite, Peppa Pig at intervals throughout the afternoon!
A mesmerising giant Snow Lion will saunter through the crowds, accompanied by giant Candy Cane Stilt walkers, a real life Mirror Man and Giant Baubles on roller skates who will be giving away Christmas goodies throughout the day, all whilst providing a unique backdrop to celebrate the start of the festive season.
Hosted by a DJ playing a selection of Christmas classics to get shoppers in the party spirit, the celebrations will also be home to free face painting and the Merrion’s famous LED lit giant festive bauble which will transform into Santa’s Grotto from 17th November.
James Broughton, Head of Marketing & PR of Town Centre Securities owners of the Merrion Centre, said:
“The 10th November will see us launch our largest Christmas celebration event to date. We wanted to provide a point of difference this year to mark the start of the festive season and ‘Merrion’s Magical Christmas’ will do just that.
With so many great new additions to the centre’s mix of retail and leisure outlets this year, we’re confident that this Christmas will prove even more popular as new and regular visitors come to experience the Merrion Centre and Arena Quarter . We can’t wait to celebrate on 10th November and officially kick off the countdown to Christmas 2018!”
