Introducing Arnold’s: Refined British dining in the Arena Quarter
Mon 10 Sep, 2018
As the ever-evolving Arena Quarter continues its remarkable transformation into one of Leeds’ premier entertainment and dining destinations, a brand-new restaurant is set to get the city’s most discerning foodie circles talking.
Enter Arnold’s. A restaurant and bar that will showcase the very best of Yorkshire and British produce and celebrate classical cooking with a selection of exquisite traditional dishes.
Located on Wade Lane adjacent to the award-winning My Thai, the new venue is adjacent to the highly popular ibis Styles Leeds City Centre Arena Hotel and is currently undergoing a stunning refurbishment.
The plush décor will effortlessly blend contemporary style with timeless elegance, creating a space that’s light, airy and comfortable, but with a touch of luxury befitting of the immaculate service diners can expect.
The friendly bar is designed to cater to diners and casual drinkers alike, and will be fully-stocked with fine wines, international ales and premium spirits. A mouth-watering selection of classic bar snacks will be available to those seeking a light bite.
The 70-cover restaurant will also feature a state-of-the-art private dining room, complete with luxurious seating, opulent feature lighting and sleek audio-visual equipment.
The private dining area is perfectly set-up to cater to family anniversaries, celebrations or corporate hire, and can be tailored to client needs to ensure a bespoke and unforgettable experience.
Seasonally re-imagined
The highly-respected Ridealgh family will be running Arnold’s, headed up by celebrated Leeds restauranteur Steve Ridealgh. His stellar work overseeing Brasserie 44 on The Calls spanned three decades, and he has a long history of serving first class traditional food to Yorkshire diners. Steve’s wife, Carol, will be leading the kitchen as Head Chef , whilst son Dave will be taking the role of Restaurant Manager.
Of course, all the glitz and glamour of the venue itself would be nothing without a refined culinary dining experience, and the seasonally reimagined Arnold’s a la carte menu will take centre stage.
Expect a tempting selection of starters, including Oxtail Risotto with parmesan and truffle oil, Smoked Haddock Gratin and Confit Duck Terrine with hazelnut salad.
The main menu will feature the best locally sourced produce, and feature dishes ranging from Venison Haunch with blackberries and red wine sauce, Vegetable and Goat’s Cheese Envelope in brick pastry, and Pork Tenderloin wrapped in Parma ham. Steak lovers will delight in the Chateaubriand for two, which consists of 16oz of prime Yorkshire fillet.
The sumptuous dessert menu includes Mango and Passion Fruit Cheesecake, Bailey’s Crème Brûlée and an exquisite Warm Chocolate Brownie with white chocolate and raspberry ice-cream.
Leeds legend
Arnold’s is named after the legendary entrepreneur and philanthropist Arnold Ziff, whose tireless contributions to business and charity was awarded with an OBE in 1981. Ziff was the Founder of property development and car parking operator Town Centre Securities PLC (TCS) in 1959, which continues to own an extensive portfolio of properties in and around Leeds.
TCS most notable development, the Merrion Centre, will celebrate its 55th year in 2019, and Arnold’s is the latest step in its modern reinvention.
Edward Ziff, Chairman and Chief Executive of TCS said:
‘’Arnold’s is going to be more than just a restaurant, but a celebration of my father’s legacy and the inspirational work ethic he bestowed upon myself, my family and indeed the people of Leeds and beyond.’’
‘’We’re confident that Steve and his team can deliver a first-class dining experience that blends together old and new perfectly.’’
Arnold’s Bar and Restaurant will open its doors for the first time in early Autumn, with a unique ambience and convenient location that will appeal to a broad range of clientele.
From pre-Arena concertgoers looking to make their night a little more special, to drinks and a light bite catch-up with the girls, Arnold’s will appeal to anyone that enjoys impeccable service, and the very best locally sourced produce.
The classic yet decadent interior also makes it an attractive destination to impress VIPs over a business lunch. For further information and bookings please visit arnoldsleeds.co.uk
