Leeds Rhinos Shop Charges Into Merrion Centre

Following their recent Coral Challenge Cup win at Wembley, a new Leeds Rhinos store is to open at the Merrion Centre in the heart of Leeds’ Arena Quarter.

Covering over 2,500 sq ft of retail space within a prime position on the main mall, it aims to create up to 6 new jobs for the city and will be the only city centre venue specialising in Rhinos clothing and merchandise after an absence of over 8 years.

Charles Newman, Associate Director for Town Centre Securities (TCS) , owners of the Merrion Centre commented:

“We are delighted to add another premier club to our tenant line up which is a fantastic addition for Leeds Rhinos rugby fans wanting easy access to the latest, newly unveiled kit.

Elite Pro Sports has an incredibly strong track record as a sports partner and we are confident this new addition will experience the same success as our existing Leeds United club store at the Merrion Centre.”

A great new addition…

Elite Pro Sports specialise in franchising professional sporting clubs and aims to open the shop immediately post lockdown, ahead of the pre-Christmas period, with it opening daily from 10am to 4pm.

Leeds Rhinos is the second premier sports club to open a shop at the Merrion Centre, owned by property developer and car parking operator TCS, with Leeds United Football Club choosing it for their first official club store in 2016.

Lee Jenkinson, CEO, Elite Pro Sports said:

“The Merrion Centre is a truly vibrant area of the city centre and we are excited to bring Leeds Rhinos merchandise here as the footfall is very much our target audience.

It’s a long time since the Leeds Rhinos has had a store in the city, so we feel fans will be eager to buy the new look kit from their favourite local team.

The new kit has already been warmly received by fans and players alike and proudly had it’s outing during the Coral Challenge Cup Final on Saturday 17 October.”

The opening will comply with Government guidance relating to COVID-19 although Elite Pro Sports plan to invite selected Leeds Rhinos players and the club mascot Ronnie the Rhino regularly to the store (adhering to social distancing guidelines) and are hopeful to be able to sell tickets from the new venue in due course.
